A 27-year-old woman with cystic fibrosis died of cancer after she was given the donor lungs of a smoker.
Jennifer Wederell, of Hawkwell, Essex, died at home in August – 16 months after the transplant at Harefield Hospital in London.
Colin Grannell said he believes his daughter would not have agreed to the transplant had she known the middle-aged donor was a heavy smoker.
The hospital has apologised for not giving her that choice.
‘A golden eagle tries to snatch a baby in Montreal,’ and the video goes viral. But it’s faked. Golden Eagle is a scarce visitor in the Montreal area, but the bird in the video is not a Golden Eagle, nor anything else that occurs in the wild in North America. This was clearly a setup: using a falconer’s bird, and probably a fake toddler for the distant scene. With all the ignorance about nature that’s out there already, the last thing we need is this kind of stupid garbage.
Then, the hoaxers came clean:
I guess these things do happen, just never thought I’d actually get to see it on video. Anyway, this Golden Eagle in Montreal, Canada was hungry or something, so s/he decided to take the easy way out and snatched a human baby… Not difficult to do considering the fact that Golden Eagles have wingspans of 6 to 7.7 feet.
Thankfully, the baby weighed a bit more than s/he could handle (or maybe s/he panicked), so after swooping down and snatching it, s/he dropped it from about 5 feet in the air.
While the kids dad was obviously shaken, good news is that the kid will forever have one heck of a story to tell… Video below:
