20 year old Philadelphia woman, locked in cupboard for 10 years, abused and forced into prostitution by her aunt.

Beatrice Weston

20-year-old Beatrice Weston who in October 2011, was discovered by police in a cupboard where she had been held captive for 10 years by her aunt; is suing the city of Philadelphia for failing to prevent her ordeal.

Her aunt, Linda Ann Weston who is a convicted killer, had previously served eight years behind bars for starving her sister’s boyfriend Bernado Ramos to death in 1981 – she had kept him locked in a closet and starved him to death.

Yet she was awarded custody of Beatrice when Beatrice was 10 and the city’s care workers did nothing to check on how Beatrice was being treated by her aunt.

Beatrice’s treatment was eerily similar to what Bernado suffered at Linda’s hands. She was kept in a tiny closet, allegedly beaten with a baseball bat, forced to drink her own urine, and prostituted in the 10 years she was in the custody of her aunt.

She was only discovered in October last year after 4 mentally disabled adults were found chained and locked in a cramped, run down basement in the apartment building, with no food and only a bucket for a toilet and a bath.

Apparently Linda Ann Weston and 3 others (including her daughter) had been keeping them locked there to collect on Social Security benefits.

When Beatrice was found, police noted she had pellet gun wounds and burn marks, suggesting she was scolded with a hot spoon.

‘She is in very, very poor condition,’ Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Ray Evers said at the time. ‘She has lost a lot of weight. She has newer injuries, definitely some older injuries, a lot of scarring.’

I sincerely hope she gets the justice she deserves even though nothing will ever make up for that evil woman stealing her childhood and traumatizing her for life.
