19 year old girl dressed and acted like a boy to prey on young girls – including 2 of her friends.
19 year old Gemma Barker created three fake identities where she posed as different boys – all in a bid to date two younger girls to whom she was sexually attracted.
Leading a double life, Gemma created 3 alter egos – Aaron Lampard, Connor McCormack and Luke Jones, going as far as setting up Facebook profiles and developing an individual dress sense and personality for each ‘boy’.
She was then able to get two younger friends to date each of those personas.
She tricked her 15 and 16 year old victims by talking like a boy and wore boys’ baggy clothes, hats and hooded tops to disguise her figure.
Completely taken in by her deception, her victims kissed and cuddled with her – despite both having gone to the same school as Barker. The parents of both girls were also taken in by the deception as they hosted their daughter’s ‘boyfriends’
Trouble started when both girls became suspicious that their ‘boyfriends’ were one and the same person. Acting on this perception, one of the young girls took off ‘Connor’s’ hat while he slept and discovered it was her friend’s boyfriend ‘Aaron’
‘Aaron’ was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and it was not until her clothes were removed in the cells that police discovered her true identity.
Gemma was given a 30 month custodial sentence.
